I’ve been living in Hinesburg for two years. In that time I have lost power a few times. I thought this article would be helpful to all of my breastfeeding mothers. . What do you do when the power goes out and you have a freezer full of precious breast milk (that you would give your right arm to save, lol) Anyhow I hope this article helps! I refer to this website from time to time. This is a wonderful resource for all parents.

  1. Thank you Tanya…really helpful article. During last power outage before Christmas I did end up throwing out my frozen supply as I was not sure what was considered safe to do and I did not have time to research as I was headed out of state for the holidays…..luckily there was not much supply dumped….so thanks for this info as I will know what to do for the storms ahead as I printed this article and put it with my pumping gear for reference!

    • Hi Cathy, I’m glad that you liked this post and found it helpful! Actually that power outage before Christmas was when I got the idea for this post. I try to touch upon different issues that would be helpful to all of my first-time parents. I remember just how scared I was the first time around. Even the second time around new things happened that didn’t the first time.
